This generator is designed to operate in cold weather with performance down to 0 °F (-18 °C) out of the box. The extreme cold weather models can perform down to -40 °F (-40 °C) out of the box. It is tested and certified per the latest EPA, UL, and CSA standards. The generator meets NFPA 37 which allows it to be installed 18 inches from a building. It has powerful motor starting ability and can easily start and run a 5-ton A/C¹ under full pre-load.
Remote monitoring is built into every generator. Using a computer, tablet, or smart phone, an operator can monitor, change exercise modes, and manually run the generator remotely.

Cummins QSJ999G Engine powers the RS20A home standby generator. Cummins, the world-class leader in diesel and natural gas engines, designed and built the propane or natural gas engine. The compact and sleek design allows you to safely install this generator just 18 inches from the home, and practically blends into the landscaping. This generator has a corrosion resistant aluminium casing with galvanized steel interior which redueds noice and vibration so sound levels are 65 dB(A) - one of the quietest in its class.
The cummins RS20A is prepared right out of the box for operation at temperatures down to zero degrees. Cold weather accessories can allow this generator to operate at temperatures far below zero degrees, which make a senesible addition to any home across the nothern united states.
This powerful motor allows the capability to start and run a 5-ton air conditioner while managing a full household load and allowing you to power sensitive electronics with less that 5% total harmonic distortion.
The RA Automatic Transfer Switch is integrated with the RS series genset. These products are Listed to UL 1008, the Standard for Transfer Switch Safety. The switch and generator set combination is specifically designed for a simplified, quicker installation.
The RA transfer switch monitors utility power 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. When utility power becomes unsatisfactory or fails; the generator set is signaled to start, then automatically transfers the load. When stable utility voltage returns, the transfer switch will automatically switch electrical load from the generator to the utility. No action is required by the home owner.
